It grants your rights directly, so you do not need to read a web page to know what you may do — the page that carries the price is a reference, not the grant. --- ## 1. The short version - **Individuals, open source and education: free, for any number of machines.** Not a trial. Not a cap. No card, no signup, no reporting. - **Organisations: one flat annual price per organisation**, unlimited machines and unlimited engineers. The current price is on . You self-certify that you are an organisation; we do not audit, meter or count anything. - **Everyone gets the same software.** Every feature ships in every build. There is nothing to unlock. - **Nothing phones home.** The software opens no network connections and collects nothing. - **Try it for 60 days before paying anything**, by any organisation, on request. If the short version and the numbered clauses ever disagree, the numbered clauses win. ## 2. Definitions **"Software"** means the ssh-key-monitor engine, its command-line tools, its generated event-contract documents, the built binaries and the accompanying documentation, in source or binary form, together with any update we publish. **"You"** means the person or legal entity exercising the rights below. **"Organisation"** means any entity other than a natural person acting for themselves: a company, partnership, foundation, public body, club, or any group of people acting together for a purpose other than as private individuals. **"Free use"** means use under §3. **"Paid use"** means use under §4. **"Machine you administer"** means a computer you own, lease, or are responsible for operating for your own purposes. ## 3. Free use — no payment, any number of machines You may use the Software under this section, **without paying and without any limit on the number of machines, keys, scans, engineers or events**, if you are: 1. **an individual**, using the Software for personal purposes or for your own work as a sole trader; or 2. **an open-source project**, where the Software is used in connection with a project whose source code is publicly available under an open-source licence; or 3. **education or research**, in teaching, coursework, or non-commercial academic research; or 4. **evaluating the Software**, for up to 60 days, in any organisation, for the purpose of deciding whether to license it. Under Free use you may run the Software on any machine you administer, copy it as needed for that purpose, and use every feature in it, including for work you are paid to do as an individual. ## 4. Paid use — one flat price per organisation If you are an Organisation and your use is not covered by §3, you may use the Software **after paying the current annual price for one organisation**, which covers: - **any number of machines** you administer or operate on your own behalf; - **any number of engineers** in your organisation; - **every feature**, in every build, with no add-ons to buy; - **every update** we publish while your licence is active. The price and the purchase route are on . **The price is a reference, not part of the grant:** we may change it, and the change applies from your next renewal. Your receipt, or your invoice, is your licence — we do not issue keys, tokens, activation codes, or licence files, and the Software does not check for any of them. **Founder terms.** If you are among the first ten Organisations to license the Software, you pay the founder price stated on the pricing page for as long as your licence stays continuously active. **Grandfathering.** If you licensed under an earlier pricing model, your existing term continues on the terms you paid for, and §6 governs what happens at renewal. **Enterprise terms.** Procurement, invoicing, air-gapped operation, a named support contact, or an agreed service level are available under a separate signed agreement. That agreement, where it conflicts with this licence, prevails for that customer. **Refunds.** Within 30 days of a payment, one email to gets you a full refund. We do not ask questions and we do not require a form. ## 5. What we commit to, and will not do These are terms of this licence, not marketing statements. 1. **No feature gates.** There is one Software. Free use and Paid use run byte-identical builds, and we will not withhold a capability — not Windows ACL handling, not certificate parsing, not a document schema, not an integration surface — behind payment at any tier. 2. **No phone-home, no telemetry, no metering.** The Software opens no network connection, sends nothing, and contains no licence server client. We do not count your machines, keys, scans or people. Paid use is self-certified. We will not add metering to this Software. 3. **No per-unit pricing.** We will not price this Software per machine, per seat, per key, per scan or per event. Charging for coverage is incompatible with a tool whose purpose is to make coverage complete. 4. **Notice before change.** We will give at least **90 days' notice** before any change to this licence takes effect, and no change ever reduces the rights attached to a release you already have. A release you downloaded keeps the licence it shipped with. 5. **Unlimited evaluation.** Any organisation may request 60 days of evaluation, extended on request. ## 6. Changes to this licence We may publish new versions of this licence. Each release of the Software states the licence version it ships under, and **that version governs that release permanently**. A new licence version applies to releases published after it takes effect, and to renewals of Paid use from the renewal date. We will announce a new version at least 90 days before it applies, on the pricing page and in the release notes. ## 7. Copying, redistribution, and running it for others You may copy the Software as needed for use permitted by §3 or §4, including internal mirrors and build caches, and you may include it in your own internal machine images and configuration management. You may **not** redistribute the Software to third parties, publish it, sell it, or offer it as a service to others, except: - **as an OEM or hoster under a separate written agreement** with us, in which case the pricing tier of *your* clients, not yours, decides the fee; - **as a copy of an unmodified binary** passed to a party who is themselves covered by §3 or who holds Paid use, provided you pass this licence along and add nothing to it. You may not remove or alter this licence, or any copyright, licence or attribution notice, from the Software. ## 8. Source code Where you receive the Software in source form — for example as a customer under an enterprise agreement, as an auditor, or because we later publish it — **the grants in §3, §4 and §7 apply to the source exactly as they apply to the binaries.** Reading the source, building it for your own permitted use, and verifying that a binary corresponds to it are permitted uses. This section grants no additional redistribution right beyond §7. ## 9. No warranty THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. **It is a detection tool.** It reports what changed between scans. A quiet scan is not a guarantee that nothing changed, and it is not a substitute for your own security controls. Scheduling scans, keeping baselines, and acting on what they report are your responsibility. ## 10. Limitation of liability TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER AND PUBLISHER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Nothing in this licence limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. ## 11. Term and termination Free use continues for as long as you comply with this licence. Paid use continues for the term you paid for and renews as stated at purchase. If you breach this licence we may terminate your rights after written notice and a 30-day opportunity to cure. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete copies you hold, except copies you must retain by law. Sections 5 (commitments), 9, 10 and 12 survive termination. ## 12. Governing law and contact This licence is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of Frankfurt am Main have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
